A Weekend of Recitals with Juanjo Blázquez Garre!

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

On Saturday 25th June and Sunday 26th June, 2022, I had the privilege of performing two recitals with my good friend and talented pianist Juanjo.

Repertoire included:

'Six Sorrow Songs' Op. 57 - Samuel Coleridge-Taylor

'Poème d'un jour' - Gabriel Fauré

'Après un rêve' - Gabriel Fauré

'Nuit d'étoiles' - Claude Debussy

'What Good Would The Moon Be?' - Kurt Weill

'We'll Gather Lilacs' - Ivor Novello

Didsbury Coffee Concerts (25.06.22):

It was an absolute joy to perform for 'Didsbury Coffee Concerts' at St James and Emmanuel church, Didsbury. This lovely concert series is the creation of Bryan Fox. Initiated in 1987, this series has been showcasing performances by RNCM musicians for over thirty-five years! Juanjo and I are extremely grateful to Bryan for the opportunity and of course to the wonderful, appreciative audience!

Shrewsbury Cathedral (26.06.22):

The following day, Juanjo and I drove to the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. It was a debut performance in the stunning cathedral for both of us and we were touched by how welcoming the stewards and local audience were. Juanjo and I hope to return to Shrewsbury soon! Below are some photos from the day (including a magnificent regal portrait of the legendary Freddie Mercury found in a nearby restaurant!).

Thank you so much for continuing to support me on my musical journey! As always, watch this space for regular updates and make sure to visit my event page for details of all upcoming engagements!

Take care,

Lucy
