Wigan Music Society

Since proudly becoming a trustee of 'Wigan Music Society' last year, I have dedicated time (alongside a brilliant team of enthusiasts!) to reboot my home-town society by kickstarting a new and exciting season of concerts. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to perform for one of these concerts alongside inspirational professors from the 'Royal Northern College of Music'; Jane Irwin (soprano), John Gough (piano) and dear friend and colleague friend Matthew Lau (piano).

The Programme:

'Laudamus te' (Vivaldi)

'Pur ti miro' (Monteverdi)

'Mozart Mass in C Minor' (Domine Deus)

'Sull’aria' (Mozart)

'Via resti servita '(Mozart)

‘Cortège Burlesque’ (Chabrier)

1,3,4,6 Duets Op.63 (Mendelssohn)

Rigoletto Paraphrase (Liszt)

'Barcarolle' (Offenbach)

'Flower Duet' (Delibes)

'Evening Prayer' (Humperdinck)

‘Dolly Suite’ 1. ‘Berceuse’ & 2. ‘Mi-a-ou’ (Fauré)

‘Sanglot’ (Poulenc)

'Meine lippen sie küssen so heiss’ (Lehár)

‘I Could Have Danced All Night’ (Loewe)

‘I’ll See You Again’ (Noel Coward)

Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes Op. 52 (Brahms)

Cat Duet (Rossini)

Here are some snapshots from what was a very memorable evening:

Thank you!

Thank you to all on the WMS committee for programming this concert. The evening was very special to me indeed and I will cherish the happy memories made. To perform with my own teacher Jane, good friend and RNCM colleague Matthew and his incredible teacher John was an absolute joy. A huge thank you goes to them for their astonishing music making and for making the evening such a success.
