Rugby League World Cup 2022

Updated: Oct 13, 2022

On Tuesday 11th October, I had the pleasure of singing for the Welsh Men's Rugby League World Cup team. The team are currently being hosted by Preston whilst they train and prepare for the tournament and the opening event took place at Preston's Marriott Hotel.

Myself and my colleagues were extremely honoured to be invited to perform. It was a pleasure to sing favourites from the Welsh repertoire, including 'Calon Lân', 'Sosban Fach' and the Welsh national anthem 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau'. This was my first time singing in Welsh and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

James Holt (Baritone), Dominic Morgan (Tenor), Sophie Clarke (Mezzo-Soprano), Lucy Farrimond (Soprano).

The evening also saw BBC Sport Presenter Richard Askam interviewing members of the Welsh team and their coaches. Speeches were also made by the Mayor of Preston Neil Darby, Anne Spooner of 'Welsh Club Preston' and local volunteer organisation groups.

It was a pleasure to be a part of such a special event. Wishing the Welsh Men's team all the best for the tournament!

Thank you for your continued support!

Lucy
